![]() A very good point Snoke, perhaps you should ask a few more questions about the first film to clarify a few other problems. He asked Kylo how he got defeated by a girl that hasn’t used a light sabre before. One thing that did please me and help raise a smile early on in the film was that Snoke kindly pointed out some of my points from The Force Awakens. ![]() I could have left the cinema at this point, just five minutes in! Don’t worry I stuck it out – thankfully the attempt at humour was reduced as the film continued. Pretending that he was still on hold and wanting to be put through was very unwelcome. The conversation between Poe and General Hux was a disaster. The originals and prequels are not funny, in fact far from it. We may crack a smile from time to time but that is due to fantastic characters and plot lines. Right from the start I’m asking myself a very good question – am I watching a comedy? No I’m not, I’m watching a Star Wars film. With this in mind I was expecting to enjoy it more than The Force Awakens. ![]() Knowing that this isn’t the way the new trilogy is going I have been able to step away from that and go in to The Last Jedi expecting something new and different. I didn’t like The Force Awakens largely because of the story not following the expanded universe books. ![]() Let me start by saying that I went in to The Last Jedi with an open mind. What’s worse than having a movie with a poor story but great characters and settings? A movie with a poor story, bad script and boring characters.
